South channels go live on the net

The Web Entertainment arm of the graphics major Pentamedia Graphics www.numtv.com, the web casting portal offering live content from Indian satellite channels to the Indian Diaspora around the world, is now adding to its bouquet of Indian satellite channels, offering a variety of content to its Indian subscribers abroad. Apart from TV channels numtv.com also offers Films, Radio, Stage and Print and has been operational since 1999. Numtv.com content is categorized into two - free content for registered users and content that is subscription driven.

RAJ Channels are the new channels that have been added to the NumTVs package while Rajs Telugu channel VISSA is currently being the only Indian Telugu channel available in the US. With these Channels numtv.com tally of Indian satellite channels goes up to nine. Numtv.com is also in discussions with Hindi channels to include them as part of the bouquet.

As a promotional offer, NumTV.com is offering these channels at a discount - USD 10 for Jaya & Vissa (regular price of USD 12) and USD 13 for RAJ (regular price of USD 14). Customers can get up to 5 channels for $10 a month. Numtv.com is also shortly planning to offer country based pricing which will be targeted at viewers from Australian & Asian counties including India.

NumTV.com is driven by its hard-core technological backbone, which offers tremendous flexibility to users offering live, delayed and archived content. 15 days archive of TV programs are offered to enable subscribers to watch favorite programme at their convenience, Numtv.com offers delivery across all platforms IP, Mobiles, Kiosks and TV.

With 9 TV channels, 9 Num Services and 24 hrs Tamil Internet Radio, already in its package of offerings, NumTV currently has more than 450,000 Registered users.NumTV is looking at Strategic alliances with content providers and Broadband Internet providers to expand its base.

Numtv.com is working towards making the portal truly Asian by adding TV channels & other content from China, Taiwan & Korea. While satellite channels are its main thrust, future plans for the division include Infrastructure services to TV networks, reaching places where Broadcast is expensive, or unavailable.
