The Chinese
offers its patrons the opportunity to satisfy the physical self with
delectable, true Chinese cuisine thoughtfully prepared by celebrated Chef
Ping. The King of the Kitchen, as he is called in China, Chef Ping is one of the most feted Chefs in his country. A career
spanning two decades, here at The Chinese he is confident of delighting his
guests with signature dishes, which are innovative, mouth watering, and are
sure to take Chinese cuisine to greater heights in India.
Designed by
leading architects Ashok Dhawan & Chisti, the interiors, spread over 3500
sq ft, are exceptionally extensive and detailed. The theme of the decor and
the ornamentations is a homage to Chinas fascinating history and culture. The
emphasis being on the entire dining experience and the ambience, the
restaurant seats only 100 persons at one time, allowing guests to savour the
environment as well as the food.
Divided into
four areas, the waiting lounge, the interactive multipurpose bar and the main
dining area mirror the ancient route of the caravans from China to India. The geographical map on the floor depicts the historical trading
routes between India, West Asia and China with milestones inlayed in stone. The giant entrance serves as an
urban portal to Chinese culture; while the walls with scroll-like surfaces
that have an infill of live images from China, create a star-lit horizon
effect. The ceiling depicts hovering clouds fashioned out of meaningful
Chinese calligraphy.
Aiming to set an unprecedented standard
in hospitality services care has been taken to provide the classiest tableware
to enhance the dining experience. The cutlery and crystal ware has been
imported from France and the crockery
from Thailand. Leading brands
of table and silver ware, from across the world will find themselves on the
tables of Indian diners at this restaurant.
