MTR FOODS LIMITED unveils its latest offering of two Instant Mixes

September 2004

MTR Foods Limited, the market leader in Ready-To-Eat food meals, has launched Instant Mixes in two new variants, Puttu and Appam, in an easy-to-make style. These flavourful meals can now be enjoyed in a matter of minutes. Priced affordably, the Instant Mixes, capturing the essence of South Indian cuisine, are sure to become a hot favourite among consumers.

Ongoing research conducted by MTR revealed the huge popularity of age-old recipes such as Appam and Puttu. This prompted MTRs enterprising R&D team to develop two new variants for consumers who will savour the original flavour and ingredients of these meals without having to worry about the effort of cooking.

Speaking at the launch Mr P Sadananda Maiya Chairman & Managing Director, MTR Foods Limited said, We are extremely delighted to embark on this culinary journey and bring easy access of these masterpiece recipes to our consumers. We aim to provide the best of diverse cuisines in the most easy-to-use style. I am sure that food lovers will be equally excited about our latest offering.

MTR Instant Mixes reduce time spent in the kitchen while providing a pure and perfect meal option for families. The mixes are packed in hygienic bacteria free foil. The Instant Appam mix pack should be cut open and the contents mixed with water and kneaded into stiff dough. All you have to do is add porridge and coconut milk and mix it well and allow the batter to ferment overnight. When you are ready to eat, just pour one ladle of batter in Appam chatti and cook for appetising, fluffy appams. You can make between 18 to 20 appams from just 500 gms of Instant Appam mix.

Similarly, MTR Instant Puttu mix follows an equally fuss-free procedure. Just add one measure of Puttu mix and sprinkle water to make it moist, add grated coconut and mix well. As with the regular recipe, fill some grated coconut in the Puttu maker and add the freshly made mixture in alternate layers. Steam for approximately 5 minutes and serve, steaming hot, with plantain or your favourite curry or chutney. A pack of 500 gms of MTR Instant Puttu Mix yields upto 12 puttus of 100 gms each. And you can enjoy your favourite, mouth-watering dishes in minutes.

These two Instant mixes are available in 500 gms stand up pouches. Instant Puttu Mix costs a reasonable Rs 15 and Instant Appam Mix costs Rs 18. MTR Instant Mixes are available at MTR outlets and retails outlets across India.
