Fair & Lovely Foundation announces career fairs in Maharashtra

In its initiative to provide career counseling to young women, the Fair & Lovely Foundation has announced Career Fairs in Maharashtra under Project Disha. Starting September 16th 2004, this month long career fair will travel to 25 locations across Maharashtra. The Fair & Lovely Foundation Career Fairs are supported by the Maharashtra State Education Board and the Maharashtra Economic Development Council.

The Fair & Lovely Foundation Career Fairs are an endeavor to provide well-researched information and professional guidance to girl students passing out of Class X and XII, enabling them to make the right career choices. Project Disha aims to answer the various career related questions that students face at the crossroads of their life. A series of 2-day career fairs, with information on over 200 career options, will be held in 25 different cities across Maharashtra. Here, a student can go through one-to-one counseling, aptitude tests, career workshops, exhibits, before deciding on the career she wants to pursue, and then identify the next course of action.

In Maharashtra, these career fairs will not only give women access to extensive career-related information, but also provide them with the opportunity to get their career-related queries answered by trained expert counselors. These career fairs have detailed and customized information (in English as well as Marathi) on 200 career options, which include a wide variety of topics, ranging from Aeronautical Engineering to options of working from home.

Career Fairs also have workshops on topics such as career planning, foundation to success, resume writing and many more. Young women can use this opportunity to explore career options that they otherwise had no idea about. Students can interact with trained expert career counselors in English as well as Marathi and get their career-related queries answered.

To date, over 500,000 lakh students have benefited from the Fair & Lovely Foundation Career Fairs conducted in Chandigarh, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkatta, Jaipur, Varansi, Lucknow, Surat, Jabalpur, and 22 towns in Andhra Pradesh and 24 in Tamil Nadu.
