LIBA introduces blended learning management courses

October 2004

Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), one of the most prestigious management institutes in South India, announced the launch of India’s first blended learning programme. Under this programme, LIBA will be offering advanced management courses for working professionals, which draw from the best of on-campus and online learning. Universitas 21 Global, the world’s premier online graduate business school, will provide the online support for the executive programmes.

The 12-month executive programme proposed by LIBA offers two areas of specialisation: the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management. The courses are designed for working professionals or graduates with a minimum of one-year experience, and have both on-campus and online components. The on-campus component of each programme is segregated into 4 visits to the LIBA campus. Universitas 21 Global will provide the online tuition. The aim of these blended learning programmes is to enable working professionals to pursue a management programme while still dedicating time to their current profession.

Commenting on the programme being offered, Father P Christie S.J., Director, LIBA said, The entire course treatment and pedagogy is to suit the working professional who is looking for an option to learn and upgrade his skills at a pace that complements his workplace demands.

Dr Jeremy Williams, Director, Instruction and Assessment at Universitas 21 Global said, much like the online MBA programme offered by Universitas 21 Global, the executive programmes being offered by LIBA are aimed at working professionals. The curriculum is designed to be functional and practical and is focused on developing the kind of skills that are in high demand in the marketplace. The programmes are unique in that they provide students with the expert guidance of the locally-based LIBA faculty as well as Universitas 21 Globals international faculty.

The programme will be open for enrolment from November 3, 2004.
